New line in email's text body

I'm using Pear to send an mixed text/html email. I can't figure how to create new line in the text part of the mail. I've tried '\n' but it doesn't work. Does anybody know how to do this ?

Did you really try '\n'? If yes, you might want to try"\n" ...
