Is pear where I may find my problem

I have a joomla 1.5 and kickapps site, and the kickapps offers a single sign on module that I have installed on joomla. The problem is when you register on the joomla site it gives this error code

Fatal error: Call to a member function attributes() on a non-object in /home/leroysjo/public_html/plugins/user/kickapps.php on line 120

I contacted ka's explained that I am not a programmer by no means showed them the code and they replied with this

Ensure you're running PHP5 with the SOAP.dll extension disabled within your php.ini file.

I am running latest php according tp my host provider who said that mabey the pear download that they would be happy to install for me, may help solve the problem. Can you tell me if this is so? I have no clue about the soap.dll or php.ini and how or where to fix. Please help, and thankyou for your time.
