I am using the Web Frontend installer for my web-hosting. When I attempt to install the structures package I get this error message:

error Error
Failed to download pear/Structures_DataGrid within preferred state "stable", latest release is version 0.8.1, stability "beta", use "channel://pear.php.net/Structures_DataGrid-0.8.1" to install
Cannot initialize 'Structures_DataGrid', invalid or missing package file

I've attempted to add the channel and I get this error:

Any idea how I can use the web frontend? |

Stumbled onto the solution. Down the bottom of the list of packages is a form for custom installations. It reads:
| Quote: | | [Advanced Users] Install a local package or remote non-PEAR package |
If you enter the name of the package, eg:
| Quote: | | Structures_DataGrid_Renderer_Pager-beta |
and add the -beta flag it installs the package correctly.
You do, however, get a dumb error message:

pear/Structures_DataGrid_Renderer_Pager is already installed and is newer than detected release version 0.1.3
|
Works, so I guess that is all that counts. |

The Pager driver is installed by default when you install Structures_DataGrid:
http://pear.php.net/manual/en/package.structures.structures-datagrid.installation.php
The usage of the -beta suffix is also explained on this page. In the web frontend you can also set the "preferred state" on the configuration page from stable to beta.
BTW: There is no release 0.1.3 of this driver. => http://pear.php.net/package/Structures_DataGrid_Renderer_Pager
And about the channel problem: pear.php.net is a channel, pear.php.net/foo.bar or something like that is not a channel. |
