Hi,
We are using PEAR to send mail using SMTP.
The problem we are experiencing is with mail sending to hotmails junk.

I've narrowed the problem down to hotmail filtering the email based on what you have in the body of the email.

"You have created an account at SiteName" sends to hotmail Inbox

But, "You have created an account at SiteName.com" send to hotmail junkmail.

We need to include a link in the email, but it seems the "."(periods) are forcing it to send to junkmail.
eg. wwwSiteNamecom/activate works, but we need www.SiteName.com/activate to send properly.

Anyone know of fix for this? Help is much appreciated.

PS, i tried using & # 0 4 6 ; for period.. with no luck.

Do you only have one single line in the generated email? Then this is likely the issue. More text with reasonable content will make your email less "spammy".

we do use more text, about the same that was sent to me from this forum for a reply notification.

It sends to junkmail when I use a web address in the email.. and we need that web address for activation.

I have no Idea why it's not allowing a simple text url.

Usually not only an URL indicates spam, but a combination of multiple things indicates spam. With other words: The same email without the .com in the address might be very close to be indicated as spam.

Do you have a server with e.g. SpamAssasin installed? You could send the email to an address on that server and see how SA analyses the email. (If you don't have one, send me a private message, and I'll give you my email address, and you'll get back the report.)
